Pregnancy & Infant Loss Ribbon Campaign - Remembrance Ribbons October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month October 15th is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day Unfortunately some will experience the pain of losing a baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth. This loss is very real. We do miss and grieve for our lost babies. We want our babies lives to be recognized and their death to be given the same dignity as that of any other person. The ribbons are worn on the left breast, above our hearts, where memories of our children are kept. By wearing a ribbon you are showing that your life has been touched by pregnancy and infant loss. Our ribbons raise awareness and open the door to discussions about the significance and our loss. An excellent opportunity to raise the awareness of the general public; it is our goal to educate the community about pregnancy and infant loss and the implications for the families who suffer such a loss. Pregnancy does not always result in a happy, healthy, bouncing baby. Our goal is not to depress or to gain pity from strangers, it's simply to educate those who are not aware of how real our pain and grief is to us. Throughout the months of September and October we will be distributing our ribbons. The proceeds from the sale of each ribbon goes to support Amy's Angels bereavement box program. Each bereavement box is hand crafted and filled with keepsake items for the bereaved family.
